Hi guys,
I'm new here. My name's Skye and I own 2 dogs. Well, we had three but one passed on this morning
I have a 8 year old Chihuahua female named August. a 10 year old German Shepard/ Collie named Teddy. And I had a 6 month old German Shepard/ Collie named Gus, but he passed away today. He got hit by a car
For those who want to know what happened - my dad let him out loose (we live on 100 acres, and away from the road so there is no reason not to let them loose for a few minutes) so he could feed the horses, and Gus would follow. Well, he put his jacket on (my dad) and when he came out, he heard a car and looked over and found Gus Needless to say he didn't suffer. He's now at the SPCA (animal shelter) getting cremated, and we're going to spread his ashes on our property. We would've buried him, but we have 4 ft of snow outside, so it wasn't possible. It just isn't fair.
Also, in October, we lost my other dog, Lazer. He was a 2 year old Springer Spaniel/ Black Lab male who always had a smile on his face! He went missing for a few days, but we discovered him directly behind my house. He was hit by a train. None of my dogs had ever gone near the tracks (which is about a mile behind my place), but he ventured off. I miss both my puppies so much
Sorry for the sad introduction. I hope to have many good discussions with you guys! By the way, none of my dogs are registered, just heinz 57s ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

yes, it is easy to happen out on a property, i understand, we live on 10 acres, and if i let one particular lab out to run and don't watch her like a hawk she's off. I also had a close call between my pup and the horse, on the land it is hard to have your eyes everywhere, we also have snakes to worry about too. So don't beat yourself up over it, accidents do happen, just learn from the mistake. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
-------------------- I love my labs.
