I like your quotes too, especially the one about Elvis.
Honey Bee and I, like all of you that love your dogs, are enjoying seeing life through each other's eyes. I am so glad to be getting out to see the beauty of nature - a dog will help you do that.

Hi Ken,
I'm Barbara and it's nice to have you here!
Nice looking dog you have there! Have you taught her any tricks?

Hi Barbara, I am just working on obedience training. Sit, Stay, Down, Come and Heel.
By 'tricks' do you mean more like balancing a ball on her nose?
Tell me some good tricks you think she could do, and I'll bet I could teach her. Honey Bee is very anxious to learn and obey at this stage of her life.

Post some "Maya" and "Milo" pictures please. My dog honors me when I am out for a walk. A man stopped us walking last night to tell about his hunting experiences with a similar dog. He didn't have a dog right now, but you could tell it brought back some good memories for him to see Honey Bee and the potential she has to be a good 'bird dog.' Thanks to all of you who have made such nice comments here.

This is from MISSBANDIT. Rate Member posted April 19, 2004 08:48 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, you need to get your picture on the internet before you can post here. That is how it gets a URL address. You can go to Picture Trail and get a free, temporary album. (Just click on "Sign up Now" on the top left)
Picture Trail will walk you through the steps on how to set up an album, as well as how to upload pics from your hard drive. (Webshots is another freebie site, but it won't allow pics to be posted directly here, only the album link - which is a pain when you only want to show one particular pic.)
Once you have your pics in an album, you can then follow the steps I mentioned in the above post.
Hope that helps you. You can PM me if you need any clarification.

I live in Portland, Oregon. These were taken just a few days ago on our evening walk. We stopped at two parks close to where we live. The top picture is taken at Columbia Park - am so glad that city planners have the foresight to not chop down a beautiful stand of trees, but preserve them by making it into a park. Next, is Cathedral Park, at the west end of the St. Johns Bridge you see in the background, which spans the Willamette River.
Portland has parks galore and I love to go to them all.

Ken, it sounds as though you have yourself a good dog. I did mean obedience training. However, I would love to see her balance a ball on her nose. My dog can do some swift things like bark, growl, etc. You want to take her and train her! She's a real stinker, but getting better all the time. She takes one step forward and two backwards. Sounds like her owner is doing something wrong-huh?

I've entered Honey Bee (8 weeks old) in a puppy contest for her breed. This is for field-bred English Springer Spaniels. They are hunting dogs, so don't be surprised to see some of them in early training, holding a bird or a rabbit. I will not be hunting with her and I am only training her for obedience, to be a well-mannered dog.

The puppy contest has now closed and voting begins. You will see honeybee but you vote for any one you like best.
They are all dolls.

Ken, your baby is adorable but I think I like your outside picture better. Can't believe how cute some of the pups are. I think I need to be able to cast at least a dozen votes, and do you think my husband would notice a dozen new pups as I sure want some of these to come home with me?

It's hard not to notice a puppy. Case in point, I took my 10-week old over to my son's house where he had a boy he has been mentoring, who was playing video games. Video game forever is this kid's outlook, he is always at the computer playing. But, when the dog came bounding into the house, the boy looked away from the screen (finally) with bleary eyes and immediately lost all attention in his games. He was drawn immediately to the floor and started playing with the dog. Needless to say, he never went back to the games for the rest of the visit.
Dogs are good for kids and adults. (did you see the picture of the older gentleman holding the puppy up to his face in the contest pictures - I love that one - it says a lot.)

Maybe if you brought home one new puppy every day, then he wouldn't notice, because puppies are hard to count.

He's not dog crazy like I am. I think what he'd notice most is the extra puppy hair. It took me four years to get my second addition after my shepard died.

I am really sorry about your shepherd. This is so hard to take. Many people just do not understand. I am glad you have a wonderful dog now.

Thank you. I still think of her often and her ashes are in the back room by the window (so she can still look out). She enriched my life beyond measure (as do the two I have now). She will never be forgotten and even if she lived to be a thousand, she would have died too young!

Nice to see that you care so much. I have my Buddy's ashes near the center of our home so he can still be in the center of the action. I had him (his ashes) in the center of all his favorite stuffed toys where he always liked to be with them for two years, until now, with my new girl (Buddy's little Sister, I call her) now has inherited all of the toys. It's funny, She has continued to chew on a frisbee in the same spot where Buddy was working on consuming it... like she is taking over for him.
Nothing ever replaces our little friends that have gone on. Their memories are honored in the highest forever.

It's a pity we can't run a puppy photo contest on the forum, my problem would be what photo to choose to put in. lol.
P.S. One vote from me for your girl Ken. Good Luck!!!
