Hey all, here's a story for y'all:

So, my cousin has 2 cats, Jewlz and an all black female named Onyx. She took Onyx in 5 years ago when the previous owner, an elderly woman, was moved to a nursing home. My cousin has been home for the past month after the birth of her second son [Big Grin]

. Anyway, she came home from the grocery store last monday (? I think) to find a note on her door reading: "my cat has been missing for 1 month, she is all black, and you have her. Call me @ ____." My cousin thinks this is odd.... and then, Onyx doesn't come home. So she calls the number and the lady says "I live 10 blocks away, and have been misisng my cat for a month, and have been watching the cats you have. The black one is mine." then hangs up. WHAT!! So, my cousin calls animal control, and they say there is nothing they can do but check it out.... because my cousin didn't fromally accuse the woman of stealing her cat!!! Onyx still hasn't come home....

So, apparently it is okay to steal someone's cat and say it's yours!! What the heck!!! It makes me want confront the lady.....

What would you guys do??

Go to the vet get reciepts from the last 5 years I doubt this woman has any records and if she(cousin) can obtain the documents and maybe a note from the lady if she is able bring them to the police not animal control they are fairly useless. But if nothing else she can have the woman charged with theft and the address the police get from the womans phone number.
