Sheltie & Collie Mania

Group Created by Shelteez

I figure there should be a group for a herding breed. This is the place for people who own shelties, Collies and border collies to discuss about anything.

My Sheltie is only 10 months old and has itchy skin. He's on an all natural food, no wheat, Derma-Treat shampoo. I put fresh picked aloe vera on his sore spots and just started giving him flax seed oil. Seems like I'm already doing a lot and should see if the Derma-Treat and flax seed oil will work, what do you think?

Hay gang. I've owned Border Collies most of my life but now I have the sweetest Sheltie. She is 4 months old and 100% deaf. She is very smart. She has already started to read my every move. I am teaching her commands by sign language. It seems to come very easy to her. I went to the groc. store today. My husband said that the whole time I was gone that she layed on my house shoes at the foot of the bed. She thinks that she has to be near me all the time. Her best friend and playmate is my 6 mo. old cat. They love to roll and play in the yard together. The cat stays outside, but as soon as I take Sadie out, here he comes for a play date ! Sadie has also fallen in love with my grandkids, and they her. I have a 2 year old g-daughter who is deaf. They hit it off right away, it's as if they know that they are alike in that they can't hear. That may sound crazy, but it's true. Kendale is learning to sign, she will sign to Sadie and Sadie will turn her head to the side as if trying to understand what Kendale is saying to her. When Kendale is at my house, Sadie is by her side.

Hello everyone! I am brand new to this......and I have a sheltie that is by far the BEST dog I have ever owned. I have since developed a real appreciation for hearders. She is SUCH a good dog.....just recently received her CGC. However.....we have a swimming pool. She has overcome her natural instrincts with everything else; but when my kids are in the pool she is obsessed; she will keep doing circles around the pool in a dead run, ducking for the slide, ladder, and diving board, and barking crazily, until everyone is out and accounted for, which drives our neighbors nuts!

Hi all! I am looking for a purse with shelties on it. I don't want big and flashy. I want simple and cute. Any suggestions as to where to look?

I certainly wish I had a video camera right now. I have little Bonny on a drag leash so I can control her when she gets into one of her rages and little Miss Shelby loves that leash so she picks it up in her mouth and drags Bonnie all over the house with it. They have made complete rounds through the dining room through the living room and up on the couch. Miss Shelby looks so proud of herself with that leash in her mouth prancing all over and little Miss Bonnie keeps wondering "hey where the heck are we going??" They're so cute.
