Chihuahua Lovers

I have so many questions hope everyone is patient with me. I was wondering how long do I feed my chi (cant figure out a good name it was Tonka but he fears ya when ya use it) puppy food...he is about 12 months and im giving him adult small breed dog food should i be feeding him puppy food due to the fact tht he was abused and never fed dog food.

Hi i am new to group, i have a fab chi she is around 5yr old, a rescue from abusive neighbors. She is black,white and tan with floppy ears and tan eyebrows and a white tip on her tail. My problem is feeding her, she will go hungry for days and beg constantly if she doesn't get what she wants. She is now a litte? Overweight, and nowhere can i find how many calories she should be consuming per day, not only that, none of the dog food or treats has a calorie count. I have been feeding her jones braunsweiger, comes in a 8 oz tube (people food) 2oz serving is 170 calories. I give her less than an 1 oz twice a day + treats, the only ones she likes are wagon train chicken jerky sticks and chicken filets. Shes also crazy about daddys teri jerky ($15 lb) neither gets too much of that. Can anybody out there recommend something better to feed her that chi's like??? Thanks

I have 2 Chihuahuas!! Izzy and Odie they are in my profile pic with my male PitBull Sysco. They have such fun personalities!!!! i look forward everyday to getting home to their hugs and kisses!!!!

I can't afford to feed my girl special food. She loves everything she is not suppose to have. She eats Moist and Meaty actually. Say i'm a bad mommy... but she loves it and turns her nose up when i try to change it most of the time.

I came to these boards tonight looking for answers.. she has a new cyst on her belly right under her chest bone. I am very worried about it. Seems like it popped up over night. Mommy gives her belly kisses every day. I am keeping an eye on it and hope it will wait until Tuesday when the vet is open.

I am new to "pro dog". I have two chihuahuas...Timmy is 4 and Ernie will be 12 next month. I had to have Joey put to rest in August. He was a rescue that was approximately 14. I love my chi's and want to make sure they have the BEST food! I have tried several over the past 3 years or so....Innova Evo, Nature's Variety, Nature's Logic...to name a few. I want to know what you feed your dogs and how they do with it. Thanks for your input!
