Losing hair, red bumps on stomach, etc.

Echo has been losing a lot of hair not on this back or anything mostly on his stomach and legs.. a little on the bottom of his neck.. He has red welts and bumps and some dry skin spots on his legs also. He also smells bad all the time I can't get him to smell good very long. Could it be because of the crate? I know people are going to say go to the vet, and I plan to but I was going to ask here first to see if anyone knew ab it.

I feed them this.. which probably isn't good food, but we get it at walmart.. and I was thinking maybe it was allergies but it just started within the last few weeks..

he is losing hair like crazy though but only off his stomach and stuff. i have been bathing him with oatmeal shampoo.. He goes to the dog park and out side to pee and poo but that's about it he has been doing that since he was a pup so i don't think its that. Maybe it's the food.. I just HOPE it's not any type of mange.

It could be the food. I looked it up, seems there is alot of grains plus corn in their foods... Im not expert, Im just going on instinct here.

I dont know about Mange, but I know there are a few on here that have had first hand experience with it. Could you snap a few pic's?

That looks a lot like a staph infection to me. Did it start out like blisters/crusty before the bath? Itch a lot? Feel hot on the spots?

Ringworm also looks similar to that, but generally doesn't have an odor that permeates the dog - staph often does.

Either case, he should be seen by a vet to receive the proper medication. What works for one skin problem will not work for the other. I wouldn't rule out allergies as a base cause, but it's more than a simple allergy.

That's scary... I'm guessing that can spread to humans? No it looked the same before the bath.. He has been itching it a lot.. I haven't really been touching them..

Sounds like it could be mange. My friends dog had mange and she smelled quite bad and lost hair. Didn't have those awful red bumps though. Probably time to see the vet.

I just don't see how he could have got that. It sucks cus we don't have the extra money... I think I am gonna change his dog food to something with fish oil because i was reading online and it said that could help. I am gonna go buy some antibacterial dog wash and see if that helps at all and if not.. then we are just gonna have to go Jeff gets paid on the 15th. So..

Could be staph or ringworm. You could also be entering into the wonderful world of Pit Bull allergies and skin problems. Our breed is overall very healthy but unfortunately prone to skin issues. Riddle gets horrible hives and loses hair sometimes due to pollens.
