Dachshund.
Back problems are something that can happen to this breed.
Welcome to the group.

Hate to be rude, but in the two posts you've made on your short time on this forum you've "passively" asked for vet bill money in both of them. Most of us here have multiple dogs of our own that we have to pay the upkeep for out of our own pockets. If this was a rescue dog, or you were offering a service of some sort in exchange for funds, I might be feeling a little more generous. But not to someone who strolls in and immediately asks for money to cover the vet bills for their personal pet, who didn't have the foresight to set aside money in an emergency vet fund, and doesn't appear to be doing anything extra to help raise the funds.

If you HAD to make a website, why did you pay extra for a domain name and hosting, instead of building on one of the numerous free hosts out there?
Do you own a television set? Sell it. What about jewelry, or any other luxury items? Sell them. I see that you appear to have decent furniture and flooring, so it doesn't seem like you're living in squalor, and own a camera that takes fairly high quality pictures. Try selling the camera, for starters.

Hi and welcome to the forum. We all go thru times like this when we have animals. When Keeda was a baby she got sick and i was out over 3000 dollars to save her. I always have money put back just in a fund for the animals when something like this comes up. Plus i have a Discover card just for the animals only. I know that times are hard right now and it is for very one else. My huband is laid off and we living from week to week. But the animals come before we do. And there is no way that we are going to get into savings and pull out any money because it is in there for the animals only. Because you never know what might happen to one of them. It cost us anywhere from 700 to 800 to get all of there yearly shots that they need. Plus it cost us 400 a moth just to feed them. So i know how much it takes for animals. I also look at it this way they didn't ask me to get them so it is up to me to make sure that they have what that they need. And that is one thing that anyone should think about before you getting any animal do have have the money to take care of this animal.

I have been noticing as the economy gets worse there are more and more people begging for money on the internet. I have a feeling it may be a new way to con as well in some cases. Our gsd forum has helped people but they were members before needing help and they also set up an accunt with the vet and the money went directly to the bills, never in the owners hand.

Welcome to the board, and I hope she gets better soon. My first BC blew out her back (3 discs to be precise) and I mad cut backs, and put the bill on a special credit card just for dog emergancies. She made a full recovery after $4700.00 worth of back surgery. Owning dogs is not cheap, and we end up having to make sacrifices to give our pets the best care we can. Good luck!
