Oh no!! I am so sorry. Your son must be a very mature and sensitive young man. This is certainly an experience that will stay with him. Hugs to you and your family.

RIP sweet Caden.

Thank you everyone. I made him a box today for his ashes and will be picking them up later this week. My son believes strongly in helping animals and does not regret the short time he loved Caden. We will wait till we are settled in our new place then broach subject of another dog to him. The locations we are considering are very nice and should be able to get a sizable amount of land in either for him and his next dog which will be a puppy this time to romp on together.

I remember how hard it was to lose Piper, both of us so young. I hope your son is able to remember those good times and know it was all worth it. It sounds like he is doing just that.

I am sooo sorry for your loss. You didn't even have enough time with him, nor did your son. Without even knowing your son personally I am VERY proud that he is handling this with the greatest amount of maturity and grace he can.

I hope that when you are all ready that he is open to adding another furry friend to his life.

TY for giving Caden the home he deserved and the love he craved. You were as much of a blessing to him as he was to your family.

RIP Caden
