Vets my peeve

As you know Sidnies mother has been having siezures latly.
Some how, she hurt her leg and it swelled up twice the size, they took her temperature and it was 104 degrees. They rushed her to the Animal Hospital and the whole time my brother was holding her, he said she was burning up with a fever, and kept whining and shaking along with fainting (seizure)

The Vets said they wanted $400.00 and until they recieved thier money they wouldnt do anything for the dog who is in terrible pain!!
They gave the Vet $300.00 but the Vets said until they got $100.00 more they wouldnt touch the dog. So now if she dies, they lost $300.00 without the vets doing anything!!

My brother said if they could find an ATM he would pay the rest of the money so that those Vets would help the poor dog out!

That is so Horrible, Vets are so money hungry!!
If they were true dog lovers they would of done something, instead they see the pitiful dog and the condition its in and they wont do anything until they get $100.00 more. Is the dogs life really worth only $100.00? They could of worked on the dog and then discussed payments or something! There no excuse for that.

yeah i hear ya i lost a whole litter of kittens that way, i even went so far as to say i'd release the kittens to them so they could adopt them out, i simply didn't have the money at the time for the vet cost...so they let the kitties die because of no money....I would have even post dated a check but nooooo way, because of the amount of money they didn't want to do it...and i have been using this vet for yrs since at least 97 nice huh?

How can they sleep at night? I thought there passion was Saving animals not watching them die because some money is going to be late.

Oh I know the emergency vets thing over INKO. We spent cash of near one grand to find out nothing but stress. It is all about money ...........NOT love of the pets we have. They go to school and say it is because of loving animals, NOT so with my encounters with them. Used to be u could get a vet anytime, now its set up with these high priced emergency vet clinics, charge card or cash, no checks, just cash. So, it tells me they love money, I can understand that, but take care of the pet then worry about the price. Poor dog, hope it gets better, they would just drug her anyhow.

Most likely put her on phenabarb for the seizures, asprin for fever. They told Mandi to give Jozi once in a while an adult asprin for pain, but not every day for Jozi's leg or elbow now.
I pray she gets ok.
What is with all the seizures going on. Years back never heard of them???

yeah i don't get it, i understand needing money for supplies but come on if a dog is that bad off get over yourself and DO something for the animal!!!!

I know, vets are taking advantage of our love for animals. They know we would do anything for our sick pets and they grab us by the thumbs and use that to thier advantage. They dont care at all, and they can say they care a million times but everyone who has gone through this knows that the majority of vets, do not care, only a shiny penny will do.

I strongly disagree. Veterinary medicine is not cheap.. especially critical care and trauma. With how expensive things can get.. before we spend our time and supplies and staff on a case we need to know that the owners are willing to pay and can afford the treatments needed.

You go into a human hospital with the same symptoms of seizuring, fever, etc etc. I'm sure it would be lots of money.

Legally.. a veterinary hospital/veterinarian has a right to deny services. In an emergency situation they are more obligated due to ethics to treat and stablize the patient.. but not legally responsible.

It's not that we love money.. but we have to pay for everything that goes into the hospital.

It's all a legality really.. we can't put our services on the line worth hundreds or even thousands when we aren't sure when/how/or if we are going to be paid.

They gave the vet $300.00, the Vet wanted $400.00-doesnt that tell you they were serious about paying? They would of gotten the other $100.00 soon as they could. To me, $300/$400 shows you they are serious and willing to pay.
My own brother was going to pay the other hundred if they could find the ATM, they were downright serious.

Oh I know except that is worst!! You dish out thousands of dollars and basically dont even get well!! Then they wonder why people are wary to go to the Doctor for thier own needs and there pets. Its scary!
