ice cubes as treats?

my crazy co-worker gives her dog a tray of icecubes while her and her hubby are eating dinner. she said the lady at pet-smart told her it was OK. i wonder, since we are advised against crunching ice cubes ourselves, would there be any long term dental effects on this dog?

My dogs really like frozen treats. I give them frozen broth, ice or mashed banana's frozen. They don't chomp on them, they lick them. dogs are smarter than that, i think. we don't chomp on ice b/c it hurts our teeth. I'm sure dogs are similar in that aspect.

I think a whole tray is too much, but some frozen yoghurt or broth is great for teething pups

Oops my nephew gives his lab ice cubes all the time and Tachi always crushes them with her teeth. She loves ice but guess I should tell my nephew about the ice.

Lilly has frozen yoghurt ice cubes or crushed ice during summer, she loves it!
A tray does sound like a bit much though.

Our vet told us not to give them full cubes because if they crunch down hard (one of ours does), they could fracture their teeth. So, now I make the doggie ice cream that I put in ice cube trays. It's GoldenSammy's recipe and it's basically plain, unsweetened, vanilla yogurt mixed with shredded carrots. It's much softer than ice.
