Is anyone aware of a natural remedy for fleas? When Kaos was diagnosed with cancer I did some research and came across an article that indicated there could be a link between commercial flea products ie. collars, sprays, the stuff you put on the back of thier necks etc. and Transitional Cell Carcinoma, which is the first cancer she was diagnosed with, needless to say I have tried to stay away from them.

I found the following site, but haven't tried the products. I just may end up trying it on Penny if she is old enough. I found a flea on her yesterday.

step by step

hello, this is what you'll need to do follow this process and say good bye to fleas ( caution though they won't be totally gone for 3-4 months) thats how long it will take any product thats good to break their cycle.
ok, this is what i have told all of my clients who are killing the retched fleas!!!

1. Buy frontline PLUS ( it works the best as i can tell ) This kills the fleas, flea larva, eggs and ticks... just a side thing =)

2. Get Ecto kill shampoo from your vet it is a strong shampoo and can be used in conjunction with the frontline. Just make sure that you wait 72 hours before and after applying the frontline before bathing.. frontline is waterprrof only after completeley dry.

3. Get capstar. Also at your vet. It kills adult fleas only for 24 hours, can be used several days in a row. And it can also be used with both the frontline and the Ectokill.

4. Go either to home depo or lowes, and get the stuff that has a nose to it so that you can reach under furtinuter ( thats where they are gonna go)
If you don't want to do that than if you have a yard service, they will sometimes also do the house inside as well as out.

5. As for the yard you can buy things at home depo or lowes that you can sprinkle on the lawn that will kil them, but make sure that it also kills the eggs... you may or may not be able to find that.. If you have a pest control than use them just make sure that you tell them you have fleas.

I hope this helps. But just a word of advice, fleas will be active for 3-4 months after you start to try and kill them, every day you will see new hatchlings, so don't get discuraged, they will eventually die.

Good luck your battle has just begun.

garlic is a natural deterent to flea's and fly's and every kinda bitting bug really, i put garlic power in my dogs food, along with constantly keeping up with bug spraying the house and yard and keeping advantage on them, i never see any flea's or ticks in 3 years now, and i live out in the country, and the flea's here are the size of small car's
