Question Teacup Poodle vs Toy Poodle

I thought they were the same thing. I knew there was a small poodle and then those standard big ones. I didnt know they came in 3 sizes, how come? Does anyone own a Teacup and Toy? Any pictures to defrientiate between the two, Thanks-

I own both. There is no real thing as a teacup. There are just tiny toys. Probably the runts. I have one 5 pounder that would be called a Teacup. My next sized one is 13 pounds and would be considered a large toy or a small miniature.

Wow that is tiny, 5 lbs.
So Speaking AKC terms, theres only a: (yes lots of questions )
  1. Toy and Standard ?
  2. or Miniature and Standard ?
  3. or Toy, Miniature and Standard ?
Have you ever owned a Standard? They seem to excell in the showring, pretty dogs.

I understand the difference, for any breed having a teacup to tiny is much smaller, rights?

Then miniture and Standard the biggest of all.

Teacups are cute little dudes, even the tiny ones.

I am afraid I would step on one after having large dogs so long. lol.
Good bed partners than mine taking the entire bed

There are only three real sizes of Poodles
Toy,Mini, Standard the teacup is something that is made up.You will never see Teacup poodle written on any papers(unless the Cont.KC has them)

I stand corrected in reading Debbie's post no such thing as a teacup. Ok, then just tiny ones. Oh well cute little dudes anyway we want to name them. I hate to hear the word Runt. I think some pups just get set back in the weaning process and fall behind only to catch up later if taken good care of. Am I correct? It is with mine that way, some end up so huge when neutered or stayed and grow and grow.
