An internal hematoma? Not an aural hematoma?

Aural hematomas can be fixed.

Never heard/seen an internal hematoma though.

My Golden had an Aural hematoma , I had 2 choices: wait to see if it dissolved on its own or surgery. I chose to wait since he is not too overactive. Luckily it did slowly disspurse, but he has permanent disfiguration on the lower lobe.He is not a good candidate for surgery due to other health issues.I love him even if his ear is crooked! LOL

yes, that is what my labradour has, and he isn't a good candidate for surgery either, i'm worried, not because his ear is crooked but because it's clear it hurts, an he is an hiperactive dog and i can't seem to stop him to shake his head and it only makes it worst....what was the treatment for the disspurse of your golden hematoma??? pls

Unfortunately not many options, keeping dog calm, and watching not to shake head wildy and E-Collar.He was not in severe pain like your pup,(vet offered pain meds).Did ur vet give pain meds or E-Collar? Its really a waiting game some go away on their own some not.If ur dog is hyper there is a greater risk of further injury. The E-Collar might help put a barrier between the ear and objects of direct contact.

surgery is your only option. they have to be able to cut the ear open and allow the blood to drain. then they will stich it back up and it will heal. they get these sometimes by shaking their head alot. it causes the bllod vesels of the ear to rupture and for " pockets". the surgery is the best way to ehlp
