I need a gentle dog shampoo...

I've been reading threads about doggy dandruff. I have a lab with dandruff. We've been through all the rigamorole of foods, supplements, etc. We've come to the conclusion that this big black dog has delicate, sensitive skin. Does anyone know what is the most gentle shampoo? Have you perhaps heard of a 'last resort' brand/solution? I don't care if it's holistic, homemade or storebought. I have a cabinetful of doggy shampoos that didn't work-they just broke him out all over again. He's such a pretty dog with his shiny coat but it just keeps coming back... am going to try doggie conditioner now but was wondering if a leave-in conditioner would make a dog sick if he ingests it while grooming himself?

I would ask the vet. The usually have like medicated shampoo. Maybe for danruff. I think its brand is like Dermax or something like that. so any ways i'd say consult your vet.

I get Sebolux form my vet, it is formulated for dogs who have allergies, sensitive skin flaking etc. I also apply conditioner after shampooing. I orginal got for a dog I fostered because of her skin was flaking and a bit pink and have continued using it on all of my dogs to ensure that their skin isn't stripped of it's natural oils when I bath them.

I don't know of a good dandruff shampoo but I use oatmeal based shampoos if I just want something gentle, I find them to work very well!

I use the Arm and Hammor oatmeal shampoo it has a green top. Also if you mist listerine (original) on the dog and brush the dog it will cut down on dandruff
