something seems wrong - Canidae & Eukanuba

i've been trying to research some food brands to switch Faith to a healthier food than Eukanuba (they were feeding that to her when we got her) and i came across Canidae, which seems pretty good.

one weird thing - i can get the Canidae cheaper than the Eukanuba. not by much - Canidae is $20.99 for a 20/lb bag and the Eukanuba is $23.99. does this make sense? isn't it usually the higher quality food that is more expensive?

Nope just look at iams, that is really expensive, so is Eukanbua, and in my opinion the foods I feed are better than both and are cheaper, also its not fair that food where you are is cheaper lol

lol - can't help it that it's cheaper here. if it makes you feel better, CT is one of the most expensive states to live in though

while it may have been voted # 1, you'll find lots of folks who would disagree strongly with that comment. it is not the best food, it just has good marketing.

I have tried scince diet my dogs hate it! I even tried the bisquets and those are the only bisquets my dogs have turned down . I feed Pro Plan. umm i think price has nothing to do with the quality... at least not in this case

Iams and Eukenuba are recommended by vets, they are the most popular brands on the market therefore they can justify the price. Just look at the ingredients of Canidae as opposed to the others, it's much better, and the fillers are less likely to cause allergic reactions. I home cook for Magic, but she does get Canidae in her busy ball a couple times a week just for fun.

Iams-Eukanuba are the same company now. Science Diet is terrible dog food, vets get a kick back for having Ver. Approved on the bag. Canidae is a good dog food up there with Flint River Ranch, Wysong, Eagle Pac, Bil Jax Frozen, Strive, Innova, Solid Gold feed and Products. Now, with the new virus running rampid it is said not to use RAW. Chicken Soup by Diamond Company is not tooo bad, I use it along with Flint River and Bil Jac.
