how old is he?

my sheltie only gained 3.5 lbs between 16 weeks and now (11 months).

Depends on how big the dog is going to get.

So he now weighs 25 lbs? Let us know how old he is. That will be the deciding factor.

I don't think it should be a concern though, sounds about right.

How sick is he? What indications are there?
How old is the puppy?
When he saw the vet, did the vet diagnose anything?
How many vaccinations has he recieved since you have had him?

Need details.

your vet knows more about his condition and past problems than us, so I would contact your vet's office to ask. They will know wether to be concerned with his health problems in mind.

nods, be worried. he shouldn't loose that much weight. is he eating puppy food? you need to bring him to the vets and get some A/D and soe high quality puppy food to get the weight back up. Prolly could use some antibiotics also to help with his immune system
