How can I get my Great Pyr's coat white again?

I have a young Great Pyrenees that needs to be crated during the day (or else she gets into WAY too much trouble). She often spills her water bowl and then lays in the water (I can't put a pillow or bed in there because she just rips it apart). Because she lays in the water, she has developed rust colored markings on her one thigh and her elbows. I have tried a regular whitening shampoo (Didn't work) then I tried Crown Royale Whitener (still didn't notice any change), Does anybody have any idea how I can get my Pyr white again?

I have a white dog, but he rarely require whitening. Although if you make a baking soda paste [just baking soda and water] and apply it to the spots, it makes a difference. Just stick it on, then rub it off a minute later. Sometimes it might take a few repititions. It helps after my Kirby eats tomatoes

Or you can wait until it sheds out

Moo's paste is a good suggestion... you can also try HYDROGEN Peroxide, I STRESS the word HYDROGEN,the stuff you use to cleanse wounds.Try using as a spot treatment.

I have a mostly white POM. I use a whitening shampoo by Bio Groom called Super White. Also, between baths I sprinkle baby powder that has cornstarch in it into her fur. This sops up any oily residue and keeps the yellow out. Not sure if it would work for "rust" stains. Probably not good for her to lay in stagnant water due to bacteria, etc. Maybe try a water bottle. They make them for large dogs.

I use a super blu waterless shampoo by bio groom for my collies white feet. It works well. I spray on dry off and brush. Then apply baby powder to spots which need a little more whiting (cornstarch based) or reg. corn starch works too. It also helps if you have dogs with white feet and they get wet. It absorbes the water.

Do you, by any chance, have a horse? I had a white horse a while ago, and I used to use this purple shampoo on him that would turn him from mud-puddle to snow white...

But, the shampoo is expensive (like $13 a bottle) so if you don't have another use for it... then I wouldn't go this route.
