Unhappy Abby's throwing up

Good Morning everyone. Last night Abby (6 mo. lab) threw up twice and I didn't think anything of it because there was not much and it had some grass in it. THis morning she has throw up 5 times in the last fifteen minutes and its bright orange. Aside from her usual dog food and treats she has had nothing unusual..unless she found somthing in the yard. Anyone have any ideas? I called and made a vet appt. for this afternoon but the orange color has me a little freaked out.

I don't know if I would wait until this afternoon to take her to the vet. With what is happening to Lilly right now (poisoned by snail bait), I wouldn't take a chance. Call the vet and tell him about the orange color. He may squeeze you in earlier.

I'm sorry to hear that and I truly hope it is nothing serious!

I too, would take her in asap. I have learnt lately that it is better not to take any chances and even if it is nothing you will at least get peace of mind!

There was a post a while ago about rabbit bait which ended up with the dog throwing up orange.

Please let us know what the vet says. You are in our thoughts.

I combed our backyard and found a wild mushroom growing...maybe she ate one of them It has been almost two hours and she has eaten all her breakfast and not thrown up again. But just to be sure I am still taking her in to see the vet. Thanks for your responses and I'll keep you posted.

Kirby threw up his prescription diet orange before... It was pretty darn gross.

I wouldn't worry too much quite yet.

Our lab mix had a similar problem during deer season when he and our golden conspired to drag a deer's head (sorry) into the yard and devour most of it in the middle of the night. He got a very bad stomache ache-the vet called it grabage gut. In general, his stomache is very sensitive. He never eats anything now without smelling it, nosing it, licking it and then eating it!

I would have passed out if that happened here! Gross.

Hmmmm are they related to Vito Corleone? For those that may not know (talking to our teens), Vito Corleone was the head of the Mafia in New York in the movie Godfather. I still remember the horse head. Doubt that I will ever forget that scene.
