switching foods

i know that you are supposed to switch foods gradually, and i am trying to do so. Faith however, has different ideas. i've gotten to the point where i have 1/2 old and 1/2 new, but when i get home from work and at night - the 1/2 old just sits and sits and the 1/2 new gets gobbled up.

it doesn't seem to be affecting her stomach, no gas, no loose poop. i guess she's decided to switch quicker than i tried.

anything else i should look out for?

if she is handling the new food well and not eatig the old than just throw in about 1/8 cup of old and all the rest new food. if it doesn't bother her after 2 days of that than switch her all the way.

yes, my hometown has both an animal control and humane society who are always looking for extra food, so it won't go to waste if she doesn't eat it.

i'm switching to Canidae. the ingredient list is better than the Eukanuba i've been using (they were feeding her that at the rescue place, so i stuck with it for a while) and it's actually a bit cheaper for me and my local feed store carries it.

although, i wonder if she likes it so much because it's "new" rather than she really likes it.

i've tried to switch before - to Nutro - and at first she gobbled it up too, but it wore off after a week of just feeding it by itself and she went back to eating at her normal pace. i couldn't stay with that brand because she didn't have a good reaction to it - runny poops, horrible gas, and i think tummy pains from the gas.
