Boxer feeding?

When we brought Pearl the breeder said to get her on a high protein diet, when i email a company about their food I asked what they recommended for her and they said to lower her protein as she needs to grow slow and steady, does anyone know which is true?

That is correct a Boxer was at the vets when I took Sally past Wed for a diagnose. It looked great to me but they stopped in for Vets food to take off weight, lower protein. I had a Big Boxer we called Bruiser, we kept him at about ten per cent if I can think back that far. Do not let them grow too fast, they muscle up, have deep fronts if worked or walked as they grow, nice dogs, so pretty and they do not need alot of protein. I could not figure out the vet wanted ten more pounds of the one standing at the counter and my daughter even said; That Boxer looks great, why loose more weight. He was so muscled and nice looking I would not want to see his ribs. Take care.

Thanks for the help, but i'm Sorry not sure that I understand fully, is low protein better, when you say 10% do you mean the amount of protein? Sounds very low?
