Question

My neighbor's dog has a condition with it's paw. I'm thinking maybe its a fungus. The tissues between the toe pads are swollen and bumpy like a rash. Has anyone had any experience with somethhing like this? Please comment.

It could be an allergy, fungus, bacteria, or internal infection. It should be looked at by a vet.

You're going to have to talk her into it, if she really cared about her dog she would take him to the vet.

Maybe your neighbor can't afford a vet.

Is there a place in your area that provides low cost care?

Maybe you can talk to your vet and get some ideas about what to do.

Studid me, once I let Mickey chew rib bones and he had them all over the backyard. They were really small.

I came home from work one day, he's acting funny and salivating. I reached in his mouth and found a small bone stuck between his jaws. I couldn't get it out.

I called my vet, they said to come on over. I got Mickey in the car.

Got him in the office, and they said "is this the dog that is choking."

Yep. I said

The vet took him in the back room with the tech and presto magical, the bone was out.

When I asked, how much. He said there was no cost. I was so grateful.

Doesn't hurt to ask around.

I know this is a rather unpleasant thought, but you might want to consider calling the humane society. Since this isn't a life threatening situation, they would probably just come out and give a warning. However, if this is being caused by an internal infection, it could be very serious and result in death.

Thanks for all your comments. My neighbor finally took April, her dog, to the vet. The vet said it was a fungus and gave her something for it. April's paw already looks much better.
