I want a Chi

I have really been hit hard by the Chi bug! I would love to get one!! The only thing stopping me is that I realized when we went from two dogs to three that my ability to spend quality time (my idea of QT) with each of them really diminished. Also, there's a pack mentality that sets in where the dogs seem to bond with each other (not only with you). In some ways they raise each other; teach each other. And that's not all bad.

Now I have to work at it to make sure each one gets alone time with me, etc. I know adding another would only compound matters.

But the selfish little girl in me says I want one and I want it NOW!!! I guess I'll have to keep on living vicariously through the Chi's and their owners on this forum.

When I do get one, I'm going to look for a young adult, already housebroken. I just don't have the patience to go through that again. Cali has worn me out!!

I have one dog and am waiting to get another until I find the perfect one and all but I can't imagine having 4 dogs...I don't see how people do it. Maybe if I didn't work full time I could do it but not with work and all and be able to give them all the best.

Chi owners/breeders ----- Do you think it would be hard for me to find an adult, housebroken Chi, say 1 or 2 years old without a lot of behavioral issues?

I'd say it depends on the particular dog and where it came from (past owners). It's possible and there are Chi rescues out there with lots of doggies that need good homes. Chihuahuas get VERY attached to their owners, and usually one person in particular. They are very jealous little dogs, or can be. They can also be aggressive. My Chihuahua Tank, who is 4 months old, actually loves people, but will cry forever if I leave the room or the house without him and he can't come. They need LOTS of attention.
