How much to feed!

Well, Libby has a little more then 3 weeks left. Due 11/18/05. I was wondering should I start giving her a little more food to eat till the pups arrive? She is eating her normal amount. And that is 3 scoops each feeding 3 times a day. Or you you all think that is enough for her. She seems to want more food lately then what she eats. I just don't want to over feed her and make the pups too big to move around and then get smoothered. Any Ideas please give!! Thanks you are all the BEST!!!

The last two weeks the pups are fatten up and while pregnant the female is to get 3 times what she normally feeds on. Keep this up during lactating also or she will drop to bones or make little milk.

Give her 4 feedings a day rather than 2 huge ones, better for her and this is what I do as I do not want BLOAT.

So even knowing Libby eats 3 times a day now and that is normal, I should give her another 3 scoops meaning feed her 4 times a day?

Honey if your dog is in good fleash at 3 times then so be it. I am just parnoid of my girls loosing weight during pregnancy. Shepherd are to be kept lean, but mine are fat. While she is lactating I might think of feeding smaller portions 4 times a day, if she is a Dane, feeding maybe ten pups might take a big tole on her, this way she is up and ready rather than needing to build her up if she looses some feeding them. Better safe than sorry.

That is how Liberty is acting lately. I give her side treats here and there. Like Boiled eggs, Doggie treats But she still acts like she is starving! LOL!
