Bichon People

My brother has a Bichon. She is a pet, not a spoiled family member. Dont get me wrong, she is WELL cared for.

Anyway, she is about 6 years old. She is fed grocery store food. She has been on Kibbles n Bits for as long as I can remember. I never made it an issue with them because I knew I would get resistance, and she is healthy overall.
I was talking with my sister in law, and she mentioned the possible allergies the dog had causeing her to lose some fur. She also gets ear infections. I mentioned switching her to a higher quality food, to my surprise she was open to the suggestion.
So, she told me to post on my forum about the allergies, and ear infections and maybe have a food suggested. The dog also has a sensitive stomach.
We dont have to be too budget restrictive, but if its too much they wont switch. I guess maybe a moderate price would be best.

Life's Abundance is really good for allergies. No corn, wheat, barley, soy, gluten, caisen (all allergy offenders). You might have to order it but shipping is often free and dog's eat less of it because there's less filler. Or, my vet told me yesterday he likes Royal Canin's new allergy formula. It's available at our local PetSmart.

The food Debbie suggested sounds good! I've also heard that Nutro lamb and rice is good for certain allergies.
Do you know if it is a food related one? There are a number of things in the garden etc to which can affect Bichons, Lilly occasionally gets a rash from plants etc.
As for ear infections a vet should be able to treat those easily and give suggestions for prevention. Do your brother and sister in law remove the hair from the inside of her ears? That can cause infection as well as water getting in the ears and things like dust irritating them etc.
I hope she does well with the new food, I'm sure it will help a lot!

I know THEY dont remove the hair, but maybe when she gets groomed? I think she goes for grooming about once a month.
Not sure if its a food allergy, I just jumped at the chance to switch her food.
