Just had to post this. Was looking through the ads locally for some firewood and came across this listing...
AKC 100% Malte-Poo, not reg, $350 I feel sorry for the people who will be suckered into believing this bullcr*p.

I agree they probably mean the parents. Can't think of anything else it would be! I'd also ring and ask questions to see what they say!

Well, there will always be people willing to spend money when little mixes at dog pounds are dying, we just got in a litter of Pug/Malteses, I don't know wheather to be mortified at their uglieness, or love them, becouse they are just too ugly not to love!

Could be the parents AKC but I don't put anything past some people to try to pull off or actually believe it could be AKC themselves. The ignorance of people when it comes to breeds and dogs in general never ceases to amaze me

OK as for price, I personally would not pay an outragious price for any dog because I don't have money to burn
Now, realizing that to me my babies are ALL priceless, if someone else wanted to spend that kind of dough than that's thier choice.By saying certain breeds or mixes are only worth X amount of dollars - are you saying that if a purebred needed a $5,000 life saving operation it would be 'worth it' but for a mix breed it would be over priced? Afterall the dog is 'just a mutt' and should be essentially free. ?????? How can we put a price on someones love? How can we put a price on the life of a canine? Many responsible owners save up and once they can afford the dog of THIER choice will treasure that precious 'investment'.

I didn't mean the OP in that manner. It was more about how some sellers are lying through their teeth just to make a buck on a dog. By saying I felt sorry for the buyers just meant that I'm sorry they're trusting enough in people to believe that kind of cr*p, NOT that any dog isn't worth its price. An object's true worth is what the buyer is willing to pay.

Carmen I didn't mean you, I understand where you are coming from.
I couldn't imagine spending that much on a dog and I depise untruthful breeders. Mine told me "they aren't purebreds, can't be shown or registered...they are great tho" She was soooooo right! Someday, when I retire from my 'day job' I would love to try showing-I'd have to get a purebred LOL (or 2 or......)
