Can anyone figure out my dogs breeds? I know it is part lab but that is all I know for sure. he has light brown eyes, his undercoat is very soft but his upper coat is rougher.

Looks like he is crossed with a Pointer to me :
Pointer Multi BIS Can. & Am. Ch. Hardlands Solivia's In Style. No.1 Pointer, No. 7 Sporting Dog 2003. Bred/owned/handled by Martha and Mark Pritchard, Hardlands Reg'd, 3475 Powerline Rd., Lyden, ON L0R 1T0. Origin: The "gun dog par excellence" was named for the work he does - pointing game for the hunter. Britain is the breed's country of development though the lineage traces back to a number of imported European sporting breeds. Because European dogs were too slow afield for British tastes, various crosses to other breeds were used to improve speed, scenting power, stamina and concentration. The Greyhound, Foxhound and setter may have contributed. By the mid-19th century, the Pointer had arrived and then, as now, it was a hard-driving hunting dog that has always been a top contender in field trials. Temperament: The Pointer is treasured for his even temperament and alert good sense. He's dignified but kindly in spirit. Loyalty and devotion are two of his strong points. Activity level: Bred primarily for the field, the Pointer gives the immediate impression of compact power and agile grace. He is a wide-awake, hard-driving hunting dog that possesses a desire to be on the move. He makes a fine family companion, best suited to country living where he can have lots of safe running room. Height/Weight: Clean-limbed and muscular, the average male will measure 25-28 in (64-71 cm) at the shoulder and weigh from 55-75 lb (25-34 kg). Females are approximately 2 in (5 cm) and 10 lb (4.5 kg) less. Coat: The coat is short, dense and smooth with a healthy sheen. Colour: "A good Pointer cannot be a bad colour," says the standard. But Pointers are most often seen in liver, lemon, black or orange, usually in combination with white or solid in colour. Grooming: A good rubdown keeps the coat shining. |
