Veggies?

Okay, I feed my dogs veggies every once in a while, and they love it! Tonight I stir fried broccoi, green beans, white chicken breast, some potatoes, and a little bit of chickn broth(powdered) just for a little more flavor. They scarfed it up! They loved it! I didnt have any carrots and peas this time to give them, but they still like it! Does anyone else do this? I usually dont stir fry(i'm 13 and scared its gonna pop a little peice out and burn me...lol) I usually boil the veggies. If you do it too, do you have some ingrediants I can put in the pan or pot next time?

Thanks!

get one of those little screens that you put over the pan and just kinda hold it there while you stir it.

I've never heard of that before but my dogs will pretty much eat anything!

I think it's good for dogs to have a little bit of vegetables in their diet - I know most dog foods do. My dog Peppy is so picky, he doesn't eat vegetables.

Angie was like that when she got old. But she couldn't eat them raw anyway or her teeth would fall out. Does Riley like them? Like i said, buck and Rusty will eat anything!

My boys have chicken mince, carrots, potatoes, beans, peas, pumkin, rice and pasta all mixed together. I spend one day every few weekends doing a big cook up. I cook everything seperate like the mince by itself, the vegies together, normally a few pots are going at once and the chicken and rice together. Then once it is all cooked I mix it together and then put it in freezer containers and then freeze what I dont need. It normally lasts me about 2 weeks. They love it.

It is my understanding that vegetables are best raw and blended because dogs can't digest cellulose and they won't get the goodness out of them if they aren't fed this way.

Lilly has all her vegetables raw except for occasionally when I steam her broccoli (but I only do that if she is being fussy.)
I have never stir fried her food but she has had vegetables and meat/fish added to brown rice at times.

Penny absolutely loves those little carrots and apples raw. She will eat anything that doesn't look like it will eat her first.

I home cook for Magic. She eats all kinds of vegetables, and yes it is better if they are raw or steamed and blended because of the celulose. We feed spinach, green beans, peas, squash, carrots and celery. I cook the meat and the rice (or potato) let it cool some and then blend in the veggies put it up in serving sized lots using zip lock baggies and freeze it.

Lilly - LOL, she needs her broccoli steemed... I think they are always better raw, my dogs love raw carrots!

LoveMeDog and Sheltie - I will try those ingrediants, I think my dogs would like squash.

Buzzie loves salad. Everytime I eat it I half to share
