Professional Teeth Cleaning. How much $?
How much does it generally cost to have your dogs teeth cleaned by the vet? Kota's teeth in the back are not as pearly white as they should be. Matter of fact one is almost completely brown. Despite the fact that I brush her teeth. (though not regularly). I know I should just call my vet but since it's sunday I figured I'd ask here first.

I think around 100-125. They need to have pre-tests to make sure their bodies can handle the anesthesia. I think either Feb or March is national dental month for dogs. A lot of vets will offer a discount during that month. Call around.

it can vary, my vet charges 71 for the teeth cleaning , 51 for the orivet sav ( and the stuff to come home with) , and 35 for the bloodwork, and then 30 for antibiotics if he needs them afterwords. all vets vary though, it could cost alot more depending on what gas they use and what not. U should call your vet and ask for an estimate.

Orivet is a sav that the doctor can put on the dogs teeth right after they are cleaned. Then , you go home with a pack , that you yourself out on your dogs teeth once every 2 weeks. This sav puts a barrier on the teeth that protects them and prevents tarter from sticking back to the teeth. So you don't have to go back there as often... I love it. Just ask your vet to see if he/ she has it.

There are dry foods that claim to offer tarter control. Canned food is definately worse at creating tarter and plaque. We keep the canned to a minimum because of this.
