I need Lucy to dry up.
I brought her to the vet - he said not to let the pups feed off her and she will dry up natrually. Also, if she fills up I should milk her using a warm compress.
I milked her last night as she fileld up and was leaking and I could tell that the fullness was bothering her. Is there a medicine a vet can perscribe that dry's up the milk? |

I don't know what it is called, but I am sure someone here can tell you. There is a medicine to dry her up. I think there is a method where you with hold food also.
I don't think I could with hold food tho ![]() Good Luck, hope she dries up quickly!! |

Just let her alone, feed back to normal as she should of been getting 3 times what she normally ate when lactating. Do NOT let a pupy drink from her, she will go about her way and dry up on her own. No drugs or meds are necessary, I have dried up many many girls with no problems, Girle is dried up to almost normal and only 3 weeks ago she was nursing pups of 9.
Let her eat and drink like she did before being pregnant as I up the food and put them on puppy brand also. Put her back to adult and she will be fine. She will get real flabby and u might think she is not going to dry up but trust me she will after the biggies start to shrink. Look at Girle on the right, nice condition with no problem. |

Honey leave the female alone totally not sucking from puppies I have dried up two females and did nothing but lower the feed intake of three times normal amounts when making milk to feed puppies.
Do not remove her water and feed her normal amounts and just leave her alone and trust me I know I am a top Breeder of Shepherds from Germany she will be fine, just leave her go as usual and feed normal amounts, water free to six p.m. and she will dry up if nothing is pulling on her to make milk, keep pups away from her. If u need further advice pm me please as I know this over and over and over........... |

Milking only makes the drying up take longer because you are encouraging milk production

yes don't milk her anymore. When Princess had babies she dried up on her own, we did nothing at all. Only took about a week or two also after she got through weening her puppies
