I use frontline monthly. It is great for fleas n ticks. Though I do get ticks once in a great while. Just check your dog daily.

Well we have the deer ticks here that carry lyme disease - I don;t believe that you have those.

I use advantics (sp?) on mine once per month.

I've never had a tick on my dog and she is checked all the time. But, my aunt has a maltese who gets them all the time. She is on preventative, but he's like a tick magnet.

I also use frontline on my dogs used to use advantage on my cats now use revolutionon on advise from vet. Do you get these products over there? My aussie used to be a flea resort area until we started using frontline, and ticks were a real pain to find in his coat. Now I haven't seen atick on anyone but my husband after going trout fishing in the mountains.

Here is a link to a website which details the 3 types of tick found in the UK http://frontline.uk.merial.com/flea_tick/dogs_tick.asp Ticks in the UK are different to those in America and even in France! I have to use a different treatment when I take Poppy over there to make sure I don't bring any ticks back!

I have never had a tick on Poppy but I did buy some tick tweezers for when we went to France as well as the Advantix that I used on her before we went and then once more before we travelled back. Another British person that we met over there had been using Frontline.

Sorry think I should of explained this better I treat mine for ticks, but I wanted to know if your dog has a tick on it what do you personally do? A lot of people do different things and I want to know how you handle it your self?
