read the instructions for advantix before bathing i think you have to wait a specific amount of time. Also it takes about 24 hours for the medication to work correctly. And it can take up to 4 to 5 months to get rid of fleas.

Yep when I got my kitten I put the flea treatment on him as he was riddled with them and it took about 2 days for them to all die. I think with dogs you hae to wait 3-5 days to wash them/ And whenever I was my boys they also get a flea shampoo just to help out in between flea treatments.

If you just put on the prevention med. for the first time, no it's not gonna work. I have adult dogs so I have been through what you are going through now. I would give your pup. a good flea n tick bath with proper shampoo and give him the Frontline. It will take alittle while but keep giving the Frontline. And don't stop!!

These meds aid you (i.e., your dog or cat) in dealing with fleas - that is, they tend to kill fleas and/or disrupt their reproductive cycle. This can take some time. Since Daisy has presumably already been bitten by fleas, she will continue to itch. Think of yourself getting bitten by a mosquito. Even if you now spray Deep Woods Off all over yourself, the mosquito bite will still itch. Additionally, fleas tend to lay their eggs all over the place - the yard, the rug, etc. so that you will likely see fleas for quite some time before they are erradicated.

With most of these meds, your pet should not be washed nor should he or she be allowed to swim for at least one day - although there is apparently some variation depending on the product. I am not sure about Advantix but as someone already suggested, the instructions should be clear.

A definite must is to treat the yard and kill the fleas, eggs, larva in the yard.
