Whats her BCS?

Meet Coral

Shes a 1.5 y/o CarJack.

My mom constantly hounds me that Im starving her, that shes ALWAYS hungry and that I need to feed her more then I am, as shes skin and bones.

So after I clipped her yesterday, I looked at her very closely...and as far as I could tell, depending on what BCS scale you look at, shes a 2 or a 3. In other words below "ideal"....

So what do you think? Is my assestment right? I'm increasing her food a bit, (still not as much as my mom wants..but I refuse to allow Coral to become tubby)

* please excuse the horrible clip lines *

She looks gorgeous and the idea wieght. You really cant see her ribs actually, she looks full and healthy. I can kinda see my dog Cyrus's ribs but hes a lanky GSD and ment to be light. Shes definatly shiny and I love her new clip, beautiful collar.

She is stunning. Yes I can see her ribs better now that I look, I was to stuck on her clip, color, and collar LOL. I can feel Cyrus ribs to, I dont like that, especially when I rub him and I hit bone. We are uping his feed and giving him treats like ham and ect.
Maybe if you tub her up a little bit, then go back down on her feed slightly she will be the idea wieght.

She looks on the thin side to me. I can certainly see ribs. Has she been wormed? What does your vet say? Thinner is better than fat as long as the dog is healthy.

I havent taken her to the vet in the last while, so I havent had the opportunity to discuss weight.

She's getting the lowest recommended amout of food for her weight at the moment.

you SHOULD be able to feel her ribs, if you cant she is fat, you should be able to place your thum on her spin and run your fingers down the side of her ribs, without pressing and feel her ribs.
