Asexual Reproduction?

Do you think Asexual reproduction is a good idea? or do you think the consequences outway the benefits? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Explain what your referring to, breeding a female just because she can reproduce is wrong. She needs to be of Bred Quality first and foremost. Then choosing even better the male. You just do not breed because one had a female dog. Is that what you needed to hear??? That is why alot of Breeders have Breeder-How choice higher price than all Pet Quality pups, so you get a better choice for Breeding.

This does not apply to dogs.

Quote:
Asexual reproduction is the formation of new individuals from the cell(s) of a single parent.

It is very common in plants; less so in animals.

No I was reading an article on what it would be like if dogs were cloned and all dogs were produced asexually; the way the world is going at the moment it just got me thinking! I personally think it's wrong but there were some interesting points for and against that's why I wondered what your views were.

Cloning is not asexual reproduction.

Asexual reproduction happens when one parent has the genitalia of both sexes.

...or when piece of the parent falls off and becomes a new individual.

i never really thought about this to be honest !! From what ive herd on the subject there are pro and cons for it, personally I prefer the old fashioned way of having a outstand girl then the fun of looking for a out standing boy! Doing this in a lab just does not seem right to me!

In both humans and dogs, what fun is cloning? There are some natural aspects of life that we don't want. For example, some women don't want natural births because the pain is not fun. However--and I'm sure most of you will agree with me--the best part of reproduction is the natural part of it! Cloning in a lab just isn't any fun at all and rather boring. When I have kids I want it to be exciting!

I think cloning a dog is just silly to get the same genetic animal but not the same soul. And don't tell me they aren't different, raising a baby is diferent environmentally each time so brain learns differntly, has different memories etc. And the price is astronomical compared to natural breeding, who pays $100,000 for a pet.
