Picking up 2 Dobes in the morning!

I had plans of picking up one dog. We adopted him out a few months ago, and the new owner has decided she hasn't "bonded" with him. Its very sad, the dog is only 2, and has moved 3 or 4 times by no fault of his own.

I got a call this afternoon from a moron who wants to give up her dog. He is a red male about 6 years old. The new baby is scared of him, so he has been living outside on a chain for the past 6 months. No dog house! It was VERY hot this summer, now its getting very cold! I was in a panic about him. Tonight is going to get down to 18 degrees, and it very windy.
The rescue is FULL, with dogs waiting to come in, but I CAN NOT leave this poor guy. He will have to stay at PetSuites for a bit, but cant go there till he gets his shots. They PROMISED me they would keep him in tonight, I wll go pick him up at 8am.

People get me so mad! I just will never understand how you can throw your best friend away!

Oh, no, poor doggies ! *** is wrong with people ? You get a dog and it should be for life, no excuses. Dogs are NOT disposable and I am starting to think there shold be a law stating such and people would have to be screened or something! ARGH!!!

Sorry lost my calm there, but it really irks me. Thank goodness you are there to help Dobermom.

I'm with dobified. How could anyone take a friend they've had for 6 years and exile them in the backyard. Dogs aren't last year's models to be discarded, traded up or forgotten.

Didn't bond in 6 months - no wonder. Maybe the dog can feel that person wasn't worthy of a dog's unconditional trust & love. And they would be right.

Traci, you do so much and more than most would

Dobe, I'll try to help, really. I am going to figure things out tonight and see if I can get into my friends place. But even then, I have to find my own place in order to take in a dobe. I'll try really hard.

But, a solid training job would help a LOT!

I agree a 100%!!!
I am tempted to go out there and see if they brought him in. Its cold, under 20 degrees! Will he make it through the night with such a thin coat?
