Is this Normal for Libby?

Hey Guys,
I noticed about 5 days after Libby had her puppies she started to lose color on her lips. They were always Black and it lost the color and it is pink now. It looks like you put Lipstick on her (PINK). Will that go back to black after? Do you think I should call the vet? And has it happened to any of your Female dogs after Whelping? Thanks !

Tammy

Sweetheart it will all come back. Do u not notice a loss of color and hair during a heat cycle? Ugly Man of War ugly ugly, girls become so listless dull dry and loose alot of good coat of dull no color, same during whelp. It all comes back even stronger, now that is at least in mine, sure yours will also, change in those raging hormones, lol. Be patient, all the body changes over and remember in humans on the tenth day after having a kid u do nothing as all places are going back to the normal spots.?? Yes, I remember my mother came and did my house work I was so clean and spotless, she did not want me to do a thing so all would go back normal, I was never normal.........TEeHee Bless Her Old Heart gone now, how I should of appreciated her more than I did. We take for granite things when young, Now I miss asking my mom so many things I forgot to ask.???????

Thank You Sheplovr! I was just worried about her. She is like my 4th child to me. One of the puppies fur looks a diff color then the others like a dark brown. I think it is a little dry maybe. Is there anything I can put on the pup so his fur does not dry out? Like baby oil or something? But Libbys fur always changes color from the wealther. The vet said because of just having pups her fur might even turn alittle Gray! LOL! Thaks again! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! .

Put her on the best food you can afford and some vitamins...you'll see her coat turn around, her gum color will come back and the pups will look 100 times better. Whelping, nursing and self care takes so much out of the girls, it's unreal! But, yes, it does come back. The best thing to do for them now is to feed her high quality food (look for some that doesn't have any corn, wheat, soy or meat by-products in it) You'll want to mix it with the old stuff so that you don't upset the digestive systems, both for mom and the kids.

Yes, it was great! But my Peachy is gone a year now, she was 13 and had rectal cancer growing inside with no signs she was her sweet lovey self right up to the end. But the best thing about her was she would nurse any puppy hers, shihtzus, kittens. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have my shihtzu Joy, who was orphaned and the runt of the litter. And Joy is just the same nursing other pups, I like to think she is giving back for being saved by Peaches.
