Shedding???

I have been waiting for the shedding to start with Penny but so far she only loses a nominal amount of fur. When do dogs normally start shedding or is it a all year type of thing? I always thought that shedding started in the spring. I want to make sure that I have her on something that will keep the shedding down, but if it is no more than she sheds now then I won't use anything.

It all depends on the dog, it's lifestyle, and the environment.

If it's an outdoor dog, they usually shed in the spring. But living inside kind of throws things off.

well sweetheart my dear friend your in Ca state, so that means they know no real season so they drop hair year round. Mine are not shedding in Pa state, its over for winter.

I also groom them with a German Rake against the hair growth, this loosens and brings up all dead undercoat, then take a slicker brush and brush it down the way it grows, do this till shed out and WALLA, they will look gorgeous and have less droppings.

Bernice, this works, against the growth, get a rake type of tool, watch and not be too tough as it removes the dead growth very readily. Then smooth it down so beautiful. I also spray with Avons Skin so Soft, u might be too young to remember that but I have like ten large bottles of it and the smell sticks on them for many days and shines with the oils we are to use in our bath water.

The German Lady, Gerti taught me that as her dogs are awesome in coats, Gino came here silky and shiny, she brushes this very way. Good luck honey. It works!!!!
