Would it be ok?

I have a pomeranian dog that I just got today. I have already gave him a bath, which he done fine with.

I was wondering if it would be ok if I trimmed some of his fur? His fur is so long, and he has a few knots, they are not real bad. He also acts like he is hot alot of the time, he does have plenty of water. He will pant when he is in the house. But when he is outside go potty he quits panting.

Please can someone help?

I don't want to cut alot of hair. Just a little.

Go ahead and cut it. It won't hurt him or you can take him to be groomed and they can cut his hair a little shorter so he won't be as hot and they can cut the knots out.
