Exclamation Does she have cancer?? Help!!

Ok I am getting worried about my dog! She is a Black Labrodor/Chow, we think and she is 7 y/o. The past week she has been losing a lot of hair around her behind like exactly around the but-hole she has some bald spots and you can pull out the hair. This has never happened before and we have had here for about a year and a half. But on tuesday she went to the vet's so she could get a bath and some vaccines. That night and the next day and today she will not sit on her bottom or lift her tail. She tries to sit but she gets halfway there and then she gets back up and moves. So now I am worried about her! Please help me!! if you have any questions just ask me. Thanks!!

If it doesn't get better, I'd take her to the vet and have him look at it if it doesn't grow back soon and stop bothering her. Can we see pictures of her? Does she look more like a chow or a lab or a mix of both?

hmm.. just around the tail area she is llosing hair? has she been check for fleas? Also, no other place for hair loss? Has her thyroid been check recently? Sometimes that can be a sign. Is she going to the bathroom? Is her anus swollen or red?

It might not be cancer necesarily but something is obviously wrong. My best advice is have the vet check it out and inform your vet on it as much as possible. Is she having troubles using the potty? Talk to your vet.

I don't think cancer either. When she was at the vet to be groomed/bathed did they shave the hair around there? Might be irritation. Could it be full **** glands? Or maybe an allergy to the type of soap they used to bathe her.

If it is just around her bum, she could have an abcessed **** gland. My Kirby is very... secretive about his bum, and he'll squeeze he butt shut as tight as he can when I try to examine. LOL

I'd ask the vet, but I wouldn't think it to be cancer.

The only thing is that i have never seen hair loss on the Bum Bum, if the **** glads are infected , abcessed, or full.... i think its something else... like i suggested i think a thyroid and flea check should be something to concider.. but what does your vet say to this matter?

I've been through cancer with Cody and he didn't lose any hair but one year he did lose hair all around his backside an he had dermititus. I gave him frontline and after awhile he was fine. His skin was flaky also. Kimberly I hope that may be alittle help
