In person, what is the oldest dog you have ever seen?

18. A wolf hybrid cross. Was still looking pretty good, except really stiff. Just hobbled around.

EDIT: My mom knew a lady with a chihuahua X that was 22

My aunt's old poodle, Andy. I was only in like 1st grade or something, but I did meet him. But he died a few weeks later at age 18 or maybe 19. I don't really remember how he was doing, all dogs were the same to me then. But I think he was doing pretty bad and my mom says they should've let him go long ago.

a yellow lab (our family dog). he was actually pretty good, just had a bit of stiffness when he was laying too long when he got up. it was only the last 3 months of his life where he really starting getting sick.

Wow! What a coincidence. Today, I took Sammy to get a normal shot, and a cross walked in. His owner said she was 18! I couldn't believe... 1. that they could get that old and 2. that it looked so great! She was walking around, and didn't look stiff or in pain at all. I was shocked. She was also a big dog... looked like a collie, australian shepherd, GSD mix. Very handsome, but big. That was another surprise. Don't big dogs usually last the least?! WOW

What I would give to have a dog for 18 years. It would be great. Imagine having the same dog with you to go through all of school.

Some people we know have a 16 year old Toy Poodle named BoBo. He's lost a lot of his hair and has a lot of larger, benign lumps. He moves pretty slow. Still, when I'm there, I pet him and cuddle with him.

I havent really ran across any insanely old dogs. Oldest was 13. But, I was in the park one time and another guy told me his neighbour has an 18 year old heinz 57. But I dont really believe it because he said it was quite big.

Two actually.

One was a Manchester something..sorry don't remember the whole breed....... She was my grandmothers dog. Were not exactly sure how old she was when she died. She had been my grandmothers dog and was fairly old when we took her after my grandmothers death. She lived 15 more years with us. If I had to guess she was every bit of 25. The last day she lived she was actually feeling really good. See she had arthritis and skin problems but for the most part she was in really good health. The last day she was alive we clipped her nails and she went running out in the yard. So felt so good she went over into our neighbors pond! She came back all wet and still running up to the door. She ran up the steps took two steps into the house and fell over dead. We presume it was a heart attack.

Then my mothers tea cup poodle lasted about 15 yrs. She lost control of her back legs and sadly had to be put down.
