Can you help?

I just got an eight year old dog a couple days ago. And now he's eating less and I noticed that there are black chunks in his stools... Maybe blood? CAn anyone tell me for sure what it is and what I can do about it.

Hello and Welcome to the forum AthenaMathews.

The only way you will know for sure is to call your vet and probably take a sample to him/her.

Could be just about anything but I don't think it is blood. Usually blood is bright red or dark red not black but hard to say.

What are you feeding him ? Is this different from what he was eating before ?
Could be the food.

What kind of dog is he ?
