I don't think a trip to the vet would hurt..put him on some antibiotics get that mess cleared up, your right its probably just a cold, but he more than likely needs some aniti's.

Exclamation

The discharge is thick and green so that can indicate either a bad eye infection or a bad ear infection, it is some kind of infection.

Take your poodle to the vet as soon as you can.

Anytime a discharge is green you can usually count on an infection. It's amazing how a couple days of antibiotic drops can clear it up. Of course, administer them for as many days as the vet prescribed.

Yep any discharge that is green is not good and should be checked out by the vet before it causes any damage to your dog's eyes.

I, general, a dog's eyes should not tear excessively. If there is a lot of tearing of any kind, there is likely an allergic reaction to food or something in the environment.

What you are describing sounds like an infection. I'd call the vet.

nods i agree with everyone here, I think its an eye infection. You stated that the eye is running a gooey greenish discharge. Thats usually a sign of infection. Is the eye red at all? or is your dog having a hard time keeping it open ( looks like he has something in it). I would go to the vet and have them do a florensiene dye on it to make sure its not scratched, or has an ulsure on it ( somtimes that can happen if the rub it alot).
