Question

My dog is a border collie cross and he has been having a problem with his paws for awhile. Firstly he has fur that grows between his paws and we have been taking him to the vet to have it cut at regular intervals. The problem is that his paws are bleeding and we cannot really tell where it is coming from. It seems to be coming from in between the pads of his feet. The fur (white) that grows between the paws is now becoming discolored from the blood.
The vet said that it is from cutting the nails but that is not the case because the blood is not coming from the nails. If someone could offer any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Who is cutting your dog's nails? Does the vet not seem concerned? Have you observed him chewing on his feet?

The vet cuts his nails and does not seem concerned. You would have to meet this vet. Not a very nice lady, she said that we don't know what we are talking about.

Is there any way you can take him to another vet? Sounds like you're wasting money and risking your dogs health. He probably has a bacterial or fungal infection which really needs to be treated.
