Exclamation Things deadly to dogs!!!!

I just have read a disturbing thing. I had heard that raisins were bad for dogs but here is one to read! This explains a real situation.
http://urbanlegends.about.com/librar...ic_raisins.htm

Another I just learned is Macademia nuts.

I also knew of onions already, they are bad too.

Everyone should know about chocolate.

Please be careful with your dogs over the holidays!!!

I know about Chocolate, but I have never heard of Raisins, Onions, or Macedamia Nuts before! It is scary to think of that many common things that could hurt or kill your dog.

Personally, the only "people" food I will give any family dog (Such as Mom's dog, Bo, or my brother's dog, Slick) is a little piece of plain meat. I have always thought that lots of spices and other things that they don't usually eat in their dog food would probably give them a stomach ache at least and probably "bathroom issues".

Not that Mom and Dad feel the same way; they give him ANYTHING even with me trying to explain that it is just asking for trouble.

I have already read about all those things, but didn't think about posting them as I thought everybody already knew. Am very glad that ESlover did post. Also read (somewhere out in la la land of the Internet) that poincettas are very poisonous to dogs too.

Here is a page I found that lists a lot of things that can be poisonous to your dog: http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dtoxin.html

I find it a little frightening myself. It makes me realize how very careful I will have to be in puppy-proofing my home!

I know of a huge list, but most we do not even have in our homes, in gardens, etc. Chocolate right now is truly deadly so place high up away from all pets.

Onions, grapes, some nuts, etc are bad also. Things we are going to have about now is all I am watching and hope all others will also, the Poinsetta plant is deadly, so keep new puppies away from nibbling at it. Chocolate used in baking is more deadly so keep all cookies, cakes, etc, up high.
