Unhappy Goodbye Ottis!

I have bittersweet news to share. Friends of ours knew someone who was looking for a small/medium size dog, so mom took their number and phoned. They asked us a ton of questions and were very responsible in their search for a dog that would fit their home properly. Mom talked to them for two hours, and I for 40 minutes before deciding they sounded like a good home for our own dear little Odie. We sent them some pictures once we knew they were interested, and then made the drive out to North Vancouver with Ottis. Mom cried on the way out, but clearly told us that he would not be going anywhere if we still got there and didn't like the situation.

They were perfect for him. Two hours later we said our goodbyes, and mom told the lady that she would wait out the week and see if we could bear to part with him. We told them that we must have Ottis back anytime they had to get rid of him. We know however though, that they will have him forever. We will be babysitting him....that seems so strange.... next month.

Christina [who is 13] has always wanted a dog. We can clearly see that Ottis will get the best of care. We will miss him [like we do all the dogs that have come through] but it just seems to make more sense. Ottis will get tons of love and attention that we couldn't give him being one of 4 dogs. Now with three, we can give them more attention here.

Here are some pictures of Ottis and Christina.

That is wonderful that he got such a good home even though it was hard to let him go. He looks very happy in the pictures

Well, you certainly have done a great job finding Ottie a new home. Is he close by to where you live?

He is just under an hour away. We will be able to petsit, as well as see him when they visit their friend on their way to Chilliwack. I am happy he got such a good home.

What a beautiful, wonderful Christmas present that you have given to both Ottis and Christina. You can tell just by looking at Christina's face that she is as happy as a child can be and I think that Ottis will be spoiled wonderfully well within a short time. Good job!!!!!
