Puppys at christmas

I will not sell them at christmas, do you? What would you say was to close to christmas to sell, and how soon after would you sell them?

I don't breed, but if I did I definitely wouldn't.

I tried that only bred Shushu who had pups 8-22-05 All were spoken for, then to go home in October. But 3 people didn't wait for her pups to be ready and went elsewhere. Now I have 2 females 4 months old and really ready to go, and people want discounts because of their age. I just want good homes for them not really worried about price but they have all their shots and are almost housebroken. Should I take less? I never have had this happen before. Does anyone else lower price if pups are older?
And is it too close to Christmas for them to go since they are older?

At 4 months i wouldnt take less. They really save money they have all shots are almost housebroken i mean come on. I think mostly though in the Boxer world they get more expesive as they age i dont really know why. Its really up to you if you fined a great home i prob would take a little less.

That is what i thought, they are still relly cute. Though I think pugs are cute no matter how old they are and I'm not just saying that because Shushu is reading this from my lap.LOL
It makes me mad because petshops discount or get rid of older pups.

personally, i have Jake to re home soon he is now 19weeks, but I wont be taking less for him unless its someone i know, when pups go here in the Uk they are usually sold at 9 weeks which is when the vets do the first of the pupps vaccinations, so then they were sold for £150, but I have now paid for Jakey to have pup vaccinations £40 and microchipping £20 and life time petback protect £100 so if I now sell him for £200 I am already loosing out, also you need to think of the food and vets bills for worming etc while they are with you

It breaks my heart to see the ads in the papers over the past few weeks "cute labs, would make ideal presents", "golden lab puppies, very cute, can deliver or save for Christmas" etc etc. At the lab rescue we generally won't rehome dogs or puppies in the week running up to Christmas and we certainly won't be doing anything until the New Year now - I suspect we will be having a big influx of puppies in January...

All the reputable lab breeders I know won't let puppies go any time during December.

I wouldn't breed during the Christmas season just because I wouldn't want to deal with all of the people calling me, asking me for puppies that they can give their spoiled little 5 year old for Christmas. (Rofl, there's a disaster - a border collie puppy under the wreckage that used to be the tree)
