Black gums on Ginger

I was looking at Ginger's gums tonight and noticed black on her gums in three spots. Two of the spots are where the front fang teeth meet the top (where there aren't any teeth). The other one is under a lower tooth. She is too old and not in good shape to have anything done but has anyone experienced this before? Maybe it is gum disease or too many doggy treats or ??????????
I think these black spots are fairly recent because I have brushed her teeth for years and know what her mouth looks like. Maybe it is the cancer medicine she is on. I don't know.

What does your vet say? Sometimes when dogs get old they develop warts and spots just like humans. But if you are telling us that the dog is on cancer medicine I would seek advice from a vet.

It could well be the medicine that she is on - it does all kinds of funky stuff to them - what meds is she on?

She

She is on pretizone. I haven't asked the vet. I just noticed it tonight. I have called the vet so many times in the last couple weeks that this seems unimportant.

May

I may give them a call in the morning. She is already terminal so I can't imagine that they would do much now.

sounds to me like tarter under the gu m line, that will cause the gums to change color. Are the teeth any color other than white?

Does it look like a bruise? I have to check Poppy everyday on her gums and belly and look for bruising. Apparently bruising on the gums/belly is a sign of internal bleeding.

I guess

I guess it could look like a bruise. I am calling the vet shortly. They said before that the gums get pale looking when they are bleeding internally (cancer).
