Happys back from the vet..

we took Happy to the vet today because we thought their might be something wronge, she wont touch a bone outside of dinner and slowly she is decreasing eating her dinner bones, it they are soft and easy to chew she will gobble them up but she just decided to start refusing to eat bones that were not like chicken bone soft, we though theire might be something wronge, but the vet said that Happy is one of the healthiest dogs she has ever seen and there is absoluly no medical reason whatsoever for this..no sure if thats good or bad lol if it was medical at least maybe we would be able to fix it lol well after the vet we stopped by walmart and I bought her a talk to me treat ball, treats for it, and some small dentabones, anything to encourage her to chew more. it was funny she was playwith with the treat ball in the van and I called her over and offered her a dentabone, she took it layed down, placed her teeth on it..realized she had to chew it, dropped the bone and walked back to the treat ball..lol

How are her teeth? She may have a sore or loose tooth that isn't apparent at first glance, but that may be preventing her from chewing much.

If it's nothing, perhaps she's just sick of bones. My guys get that way sometimes and I just give them their meals without a bone (plus a calcium supplement) for a while until they start to want bones again.

Maybe she has a loose tooth or a cavity.. Something in her teeth may be bothering her.

thats what we thought, we had the vet look very specificly at her teeth, there is nothing wrong with them, and are actually about 10 times better then the teeth of your average dog. she is not bored of bones, she goes crazy then most of the other dogs when it comes to feeding time, and she gets lots of none bone food as well, she has NEVER been a chewer, we were concerned because it seems to be getter worse, she loves her bones but she just wont bother if they are too thick or too hard, she eats the meat off the bones and if she cant chew the bone completly in about 30 seconds she will just drop the bone and lay back and relax, and refuse to pick it up again, we already went over everything with the vet, its not that she cant because it hurts, we cleared that possabily out of the way with the vet visit, which means its all in her head, she simpley does not WANT to.

Maybe it's just a phase?? She sounds healthy and "happy"

In the meantime my dogs have requested all her bones be sent ASAP, to them lol
