Has anyone out there at all ever heard of puppy acne?
Back when Grady was about 4-5 months old my husband and I started noticing these little bumps all over Grady's chin and lips. I thought it might be because he has an allergy to grass When I took him into the vet to ask him what it was I was told it was puppy acne because he was becoming a teenager...at 4 or 5 months I found this odd, Well here he is ten months and they still have not completely gone away and when he is playing with his ball or bear and bumps his chin or lips they start to bleed, they don't bleed alot but when all of a sudden I see blood on my hand my first thought is who is bleeding me or Grady. Can somebody please shed some light on this subject for us we are very concerned or can I get some suggestions on what to put on it to give Grady some relief and to help them go away. Thanks Grady and Tanya |

My cat has acne, it just comes and goes. It never gets really bad to where it bleeds. I don't know about that. Good luck though. It's not uncommon, just so that you know.

Actually puppy and dog acne is fairly common. I found that it was caused by plastic bowls in my Dobermans so I switched the bowls to stainless steel and the problem went away.
You can try that and also maybe a bath once a week and wash that area particularly well. |

Grady has always had stainless steel bowls for food but a plastic bowl that holds his water it is one the ones that holds lots of water and keeps running it lasts him a couple of days at a time. Thanks for the advice and I will try a sainless steel bowl for water too and see if that helps.

nods, acne is sometimes common in dog although i primariorly see it on cats for some reason. Usually the vet can give you a cream to put on the area to help reduce thema and any bleeding that may occure if one is popped.
