Ginger in doggy heaven.

Well we made the decision to put Ginger to sleep this morning. It was so sad. We talked to the vet this morning (before deciding for sure) and he said it was time. We took her in around ll:15 a.m. and it was over very quickly. We decided not to go in with her. We wanted to remember her alive. We have been saying our goodbyes all week. She wasn't even drinking water and the vet said that her kidneys would probably be shutting down soon. The vet said that he looked in her eyes and there wasn't a sparkle in them anymore. I thought we were just reading into that but he said the same thing and he didn't even know that we thought that. I had put Ginger in her bed in front of the glass door so she could watch out the door (she use to like that). She saw something and barked. Well that made her breath even harder. I woke up at 6:l5 this morning and kept thinking about her. Then a few hours later I saw her really panting and we all decided that we didn't want her to suffer anymore. The vet told us this morning that the quality of her life was gone and basically the last "love" thing you can do is to put her to sleep.

My husband is upset also. I think he thought I have been crazy crying on and off the last couple months. Well, on the way home, guess what he did? Of course guys will deny it.

Thanks for all your support.

I am so sorry to hear that she is gone. You loved her and gave her a life truely worth remembering. Big hugs and kisses coming your way from Rusty, Bundy and me.

Ginger will be missed greatly.
I agree with the vet, it really is the last act of love we can show them.
She is at the Rainbow Bridge romping around like a pup. No pain, no panting,
no sluggishness. I'm sure she'd thank you if she could.
God Bless you and your family for putting her needs first.
You did the right thing by her.
I'll certainly miss her stories and pictures.
You're all in my heart.

Oh I am so sorry that you finally had to let your sweet baby go. I know how hard it was for you and God bless you for making that difficult decision. I am sure that Ginger would have thanked you if she could and I know that she will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge and that she is laughing, chasing butterflies and enjoying herself free from pain or illness. Long distance hugs to you.

You know if you felt it right, I'd still love to hear of Ginger and see pics.
She is only gone physically-not mentally or emoionally or spirtitually.
