Poisonous plants

We have been walking around the yard trying to figure out what Penny could have eaten that was poisonous. It seems we have many plants that could be poisonous. Even an avocado that is growing. Does anybody have any clues on how to keep Penny out of those plants? I have already decided that when she needs to go potty that I am not leaving her outside by herself. I just don't know how alert my mother will be about watching her. Any ideas out there?

It's the avocado pit that is particularily bad. Do you have mulch in your garden? I remember reading that there was a garden mulch made of some sort of bean that was very bad for pets.

I saw some animal repellent made just for keeping dogs, cats and other animals from the garden.

I had forgotten about the pellets. I have heard about them before and I am going to see if I can find them. It would be extremely difficult for me to identify and/or remove all poisonous plants. Does anyone know what the pellets are called? I have been searching and so far I can't find anything.

I am so worried about Penny. She is still throwing up and drooling. I doubt that she will be getting spayed on Monday. She will drink water, but it seems like half an hour later she is throwing it up again. At first I was giving her chicken and rice dog food, and her diahrrea isn't quite so bad any more but she keeps throwing up. I don't know if I should continue feeding her now or not. I am worried sick about her.
